You may have noticed over the years that I do not opine about current politics. At least not much, although believe me, it is so tempting. The primary rationale for this is that I am strongly opinionated, which combined with Sagittarian bluntness would quickly get out of hand and cause consternation among my editors, who I imagine are consterned enough from time to time. Another justification is that a couple of months usually pass between composition and publication, meaning none of us would even remember what political issue I was talking about 300 or so presidential tweets ago.
