Henry Lindlahr (1862-1924)

Sussanna Czeranko, ND

The Vis medicatrix naturae is a term that forms one of our foundational tenets: there is healing in the power of Nature. Henry Lindlahr defined disease as "the natural and inevitable result of violation of Nature's laws."1 This notion has become one of the most naturopathic of the philosophical laws that we have. When we ignore and eschew healthy options in our lives, Nature has a way of leveling the score. Deceiving Nature indefinitely is not sustainable.
